The monkey vs the moon

I almost missed my deadline for a post today. I spent all day wanting to write but just could not seem to grasp anything into enough words to give my readers a legitimate post. But it finally came to me at about 11:30pm. It comes from an old story about the monkey and the moon. The story goes that every night the monkey would look up in the open sky and see the full moon starring at him. It was the most beautiful thing that he had ever seen and he wanted to go to it more then anything. And every night he would go to his favorite watering hole, and he would see the reflection of the moon in the water. He would sneak up on it and land face first in the water. He would climb a tree and launch him self at it to find the same result time and time again he would try his hardest and then fail…Then one day man started sending apes into space. And the monkey was captured and sent to the moon in a space ship. He landed on the moon and was SO very happy he ran around and did flips and howled back at the Earth with a sense of achievement because he found his love. And here is what I wanted to post…

            Even if the distance is vast or the struggle great,
            Even if I did not know where to search or simply how to start;
            Even if the road ahead is blocked or I can no longer walk,
            Even if every bone in my body shatters or if everyone else tells me otherwise.
            Even if you don’t want me to save you or will hate me for doing so,
            I will save you
            Because nothing else could ever change the world

            The story was about determination and how never giving up pays off in the end. Sadly enough it does not always end so nicely. But even if you are to fail as long as you know that you gave it your all then you can fail knowing that you did all you could. And that is by far my most prized poem. Please feel free to spread it. Oh and remember it is better to die on your feet then live on your knees.
