Education DOES Come at a price

The time is coming for school's across the globe to begin again and with that begins the choice that young men and women in this country face every year. Am I going to college or not? Now typically almost every high school graduate wants to go to school. Parents want their children to go to school so that they will have a better life but is college really meant for everyone? As usual it's a yes and no answer. Yes anyone can go to college NO not everyone should go to college right out of high school. The reason for that is simple...

In 2011 a study was done by the Institute College Access and Success Project on Student Debt. What they found out was that the college graduates of 2011 averaged $27,000. This is an extremely high number considering the unemployment rates have not declined drastically enough and that the average american family makes $47K a year( That is a working household not a single individual. So what is a person to do? Not pursue their education?

Ultimately the decision is your's and your families but you should ask yourself why am I going to college, What am I hoping to achieve and lastly and most importantly is this really what I want to do until COMPLETION. Meaning if your reason for going to college is to be a Dr. then are you willing to give up a good part of your young adult party life for studies? As a race humans separate themselves  from animals in slightly different ways but the most obvious is our ability to pass down experiences. We don't have to let the next generation make the same mistakes that we made. Sorry everyone can not do what they want...let's face it a hispanic, female, lesbian with dyslexia does not have the best chance of being president. Not IMPOSSIBLE just IMPROBABLE but hey the world always needs to another anarchist or journalist..or programmer..or exotic dancer.

Let us not kid ourselves people want to go to college to be successful and by successful they mean rich. Their are more ways to get rich now then probably ever before. Lil Wayne, the guy who made facebook..Jenna Jamison. None of these required a college degree yet pretty sure most would kill for their bank account info. So work smarter not harder HINT HINT
