Many of you may not know this about me but I am a huge...huge comic book fan. So much that I have a second job just for comic and cryptozoology expenses, the later I have not been spending a great deal of time on but there is always tomorrow. Something else many of you may not realize is that new comic books come out each and every Wednesday!!! I know awesome right? Well to help spread the love of comics I have with the world every Wednesday I will give comic reviews on the ones that I buy that day which is called a "pull list," to us geeks. And what better way to start off this amazing topic then with
Comic 1: TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES # 22
As stated this is issue number 22 so their is quite a bit to explain but in brief TMNT is published by IDW and the story is by Kevin Eastman, Bobby Curnow & Tom Waltz and the amazing art is done by Mateus Santolouco and color by Ronda Pattison. Now to bring you up to speed recently Shredder( Orokou Saki) and Master Splinter( Hamato Yoshi)found out that their current bodies are reincarnations from past lives where they also were rivals as well as the turtles. All were ninja warriors in feudal Japan. Although Shredder does not have a son he has his granddaughter Kitsune. But he has set his eyes on Leonardo as an heir. TO complicate things even more rival gangs are imposing on Shredder's turf and he aint happy about it none the least. I mean at what point does pissing off Shredder seem like a good idea?
Things are even worst for the family of turtles due to the fact that they have been flushed out of their old home as well as already been attacked by Slash at their new hideout which is an old abandoned church. The decent continues with Casey Jones moving out of the house due to his abusive drunk of a father. With a little harsh love from Master Splinter Casey's dad stops beating on him but Casey made a promise to his dying mom that he would watch over his dad no matter what. One night on patrol with Ralph the two men are jumped by a gang of foot ninjas which leads to them both being kidnapped. Raphael ends up breaking free but Casey Jones is out cold. Raphael heads back to the others and they form a plan to rescue Casey Jones from the docks( Raphael over heard Kitsune speak about the docks when he was kidnapped.)
Things quickly spiral out of control as Shredder and the foot spring their trap. Master Splinter was well aware that they were walking into a trap and as Shredder egged him to show himself he refused Shredder showed he was in no mood for games by stabbing Casey Jones in the chest without any prejudice!!!( Not gunna lie I almost cried) Raphael sees this and goes into a blind rage and doesn't listen to the commands of his master to focus. The turtles fight while Angel( member of a rival gang and friend of Casey Jones) and Michelangelo help get Casey out of the fray. Well they accomplish their goal and as they are dashing down the dark alley Leo drops to the ground and Kisune is standing holding a fired crossbow. Mikey, Ralph, Master Splinter and Donatello are in the van with April O'neil and Angel. Then fear sets in as they 
realize that if they don't get to a hospital immediately CASEY JONES WILL DIE!!!. I debated about putting this as the first of the 3 books I am writing about simply because this one was the best to me and for these reasons 1) I really think the relationship between Raphael and Casey Jones has been strengthened in this series better then ever and while Raphael has usually been a hot head I see him unleashing some Vader like rage. 2) Leonardo...under mind control or whatever of shredder?? Leonardo vs his brothers in a legit fight to the death..that is something I would read 3) I seriously doubt they will kill off Casey Jones who is one of my favorite characters in all of comics but I do see them having some good options on saving him.The obvious medical treatment but I think the writers have something more creative like injecting him with the serum that made the turtles mutants( extreme turn and probably won't happen cause it really would change the character) or maybe splinter has some ninja medicine for Mr. Jones..but we will find out next month.
The series has amazing art and the covers are gorgeous. I am always upset when I buy one because my local dealer usually doesn't get the rare covers but if you can get your hands on them get them.
Comic 2: New Avengers #6
This title in particular has had me on the edge of my seat since the 1st issue. For those of you who have not read any of these issues a little back story of New Avengers which is written by Jonathan Hickman takes place right after the events of Avengers Vs Xmen and the team initially was comprised of Black Bolt, Namor, Reed Richards, Iron Man, Captain America, Doctor Strange and Black Panther( T'challa).. A strange being arrived in Wakanda with an ominous planet behind her she later was identified as Black Swan. He purpose was to destroy the Earth( like every bad person tsk tsk tsk) Anyways she has actually already seen it happen to multiple Earth's in the multiverse. Fair warned if you do intend on reading this series be patient. As I said in the beginning it's constant tension and literally minutes from the Earth being destroyed by these "incursions," which means the threat of all the alternate realities are in danger. Basically the incursions are causing alternate versions of Earth to collide with each other. Once the Illuminati( minus Professor X who was killed at the end of Avengers vs X-men) realized they had moments to save their planet the team reforged the infinity gauntlet and Captain America decided to dispel the alternate Earth from crashing into our's. This only delayed the inevitable which the Black Swan pointed out they needed to learn how to destroy a world in order to save theirs and of course Captain America wasn't having that so Dr. Strange erased his memory of the event, he was booted off the team and not heard from again. He was also replaced by the Beast, so this new team creates 
the weapon anyways bringing us to the current issue. The Black Swan is now willing to assist the New Avengers and she is well aware if she tries anything they will kill her..or at least try. The Black Swan is able to sense the next location of the incursion's and the next location? Latveria. Yes yes the home of Dr. Doom well oddly enough apparently Doom is clueless to the fact that the world has almost ended multiple times in the past few days. Either way the incursion occurs and new invaders from another Earth attack Castle Doom and of course Dr. Doom destroys the fools. In an epilogue Doom is seen being given a bomb shell or something that the Illuminati used in order to destroy the other Earth. Either way the series is slow but has a bunch of big players. Personally I would like to see a Wakanda vs Atlantis come out of this but now they bring Doom into the fray and it just seems like a case of too many punches going in to many directions. Hopefully they quickly get this title to some conflict less complicated.
Comic 3: Injustice god's among us #5
Probably one of the most read books out of the 3 on my pull list to me personally it's rather low on my list primarily because it is centered around my least favorite comic character superman. The series is based on the game with the same title. And it is about Joker causing superman to kill Lois Lane and their unborn child. superman then goes postal and punches a hole in the Joker in front of Batman. Old Bats obviously isnt going for this and neither are Green Arrow, Nightwing, Aquaman or the Flash. But he does get the good graces of cyborg and Wonder Woman. After the death of the Joker superman hunts down Harley Quinn who is being transported back to Arkham Asylum in secret by Green Arrow.
Batman goes on his moral spill and superman decides to play god and be everywhere at once all the time and end all crime. Personally it has the ring of Avengers vs X-men but that ended with the death of Proffessor X and I am sure DC won't kill anyone major off but...who knows. In this issue basically all that happened was that the Flash ran around and slowly but surely is being pulled closer and closer to seeing thing's Batman's .
way. But before that Green Arrow brings Harley Quinn to Arkham Asylum where oddly enough superman, Wonder Woman, and Cyborg are at. Batman sees things going bad and heads their but not before his son Damien( Robin) decides to side with superman.

Cyborg and superman teleport a few criminals out and Batman says don't do it again..last warning Cyborg does and Batman pushes a button and Cyborg is dropped like a stripper on tuesday night instantly infected with a virus that Batman planted on him the first day they met. Bruce you have serious trust issues. Meantime Harley Quinn has broken the nose of the guard she was left with( for the 3rd time) and managed to free none other then the man who was born on a Monday...died on a Saturday and buried on a Sunday
Solomon Grundy.He appears and grabs Damien by the throat and end comic. Damn Damien don't tell me your gunna die...again. Honestly the only way I see this being good is if becomes less predictable but even then it's not part of the main DC universe so it really wont matter.
